It’s July and I love longer days! And parades. And fireworks. And BBQ. And farmer’s markets. Yes, please!
There’s lots to share this month, especially from the whirlwind month-long Pride celebrations in June. My favorite theme was “Love Wins.” I felt compelled to be more in community this year and marched in Baltimore’s Pride parade...something I haven’t done since 2017. I’m glad that I did. The unbridled joy and positive energy along the parade route and at subsequent festivals soothed my soul.

I was thrilled to be interviewed for two podcasts and THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story was selected as a favorite beach read by Rainbow Room Publishing. Cue the happy dance!
I had fun chatting with Dr. Mario Jackson, a Certified Lifestyle Transition Coach and Motivational Speaker, who has made it his mission to “empower Gen X’ers to ditch the idea of waiting for retirement to enjoy the freedoms they crave in life NOW!” YES! I worked with Dr. Mario for several months in 2019 to get tips and refine my writing process. We discussed his recommendations, book bans, and so much more. The second fun-filled interview was with Eddie S. Pierce, Jr., publisher of Rainbow Room Publishing, LLC. I met Eddie while living in Chicago and he provided, and still provides, a variety of author services. Thanks to Charm City Books, an independent, family-owned bookstore, for letting me partner with them during Baltimore’s ‘Pride in the Park’ in Druid Hill Park. It goes without saying that it’s exciting to see my book alongside other fabulous books. At a separate event, I was thrilled to see fellow authors Lindsey Pope Writes and Melissa Munro Boyd at Baltimore County Public Library - Woodlawn Branch’s Community Reading Fest.
